Les Violons / The Violins
Toute Petite Section (Nursery School)
Petite Section (Preschool)
Moyenne Section (Pre-Kindergarten)
From the age of 33 months to four years old, our école maternelle focuses on introducing the French language and fostering familiarity with the learning process. By introducing a foreign language at such a young age, students are able to absorb meaning simultaneously, rather than translating as we begin to do as young adults.
Cycle 1 emphasizes socialization and oral language by building relationships with other children and adults. Children are helped to gain autonomy and acquire the aptitudes and skills that build the fundamentals of learning: reading, writing and counting.
Les Guitares / The Guitars
La Grande Section (Kindergarten)
Cours Préparatoire (Grade 1)
Cours Elémentaire Première Année (Grade 2)
Kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 2 represent the formal acquisition of skills such as math and reading. These are balanced with an emphasis on art, music, social studies, science and physical education.
Les Violoncelles / The Cellos
Cours Elémentaire Deuxième Année (Grade 3)
Cours Moyen Première Année (Grade 4)
Cours Moyen Première Année (Grade 5)
In cycle 3, students switch from learning to read to reading to learn. Students attain a firm handle on academic concepts and begin to sharpen their problem solving. This is when independent learning truly starts to take root and social awareness of cultural perspectives blossom.
