The French national curriculum is designed by education experts—university professors, psychologists, commissioners and teachers—and is recognized worldwide for its quality. The French American School of Minneapolis combines the French national curriculum and Minnesota standards so students easily transition to another school after graduating from the French American School of Minneapolis. Accommodating Diverse Progress
Designed around the French system, the French American School of Minneapolis features both école maternelle (age 33 months through kindergarten) and école élémentaire (grades 1 through 5), in addition to its Toddler Program beginning at 16 months. Curriculum is broken into three cycles. These cycles provide flexibility to accommodate students’ diverse rates of development. The three cycles are built around learning goals that allow for individualized focus as needed. Students’ advanced skills thrive while areas needing additional attention receive tailored support.
Music and Art
Music and Art classes are fundamental elements that are integrated into the core curriculum at the French American School of Minneapolis. These classes engage children in a different form of critical thinking, similar to the use of a foreign language.
Our After School Program activities run throughout the school year and currently include the following:
– Stretch’n’Grow (for toddlers)
– Kicks 4 Kids (soccer)
– Board Games (in French)
– Mad Science (live experiments)
– Theatre & Drama (in partnership with Stages Theatre Company)
